Workshop- in progress , Wood Area

toys are nice, but it is what comes off of them that is important.  Any pics of that?

Sadly, with my heavy regular work schedule and the limited time I have to actually work on the shop, the projects I do are mostly quick, down and dirt and simple.

A simple serving tray for the wife.
The handles are winge. The frame is walnut. The opposing cats are maple/walnut. The boarder is Maple-Winge-American Holly-Wenge. Simple, nothing fancy.

The back was plain with tiger maple and winge divider.

Hopefully in the years to come, I will have more time to do bigger, more complicated project. All the wood and the overlay (veneer 1/16") is all resawed/made from scraps.

Nice job, Rob.

If you call that "Simple, nothing fancy" I can't WAIT to see what you consider to be a serious project?

This is what's missing from almost every shop I've ever walked through.  Your space planning is admirable.  I echo the earlier request for you to post a floorplan/layout drawing, if you have one.

I found this drawing which is close to the layout as it stands now.

Thanks for that.  I stopped by a guy's production shop that I hadn't visited in a few years, because it's way out of town.  He used to have overlapping outfeed areas, but he was able to buy the whole building and expand to give everything some more room.  However, his widebelt sander still outfeeds into the side of a shaper with stock over 12'.

There's a serious art to this space planning, looks like you've got it down.

I'm impressed. But I have to say, you must not build cabinets ;D that's tight configuration for so many tools!

[member=8433]RobWoodCutter[/member] Just wondering if you have a closer up image of the cutting table (the bench where the  Kapex is)? I'm wondering what the rales you have used, etc.
