Worst plywood I have ever seen.

Bob,

That Garnica looks nice. How about a couple face shots?  Also price range?

Thanks,

    Seth

I have never been able to understand the logic of saving a few bucks on the material resulting in wasting big $$$ in labor [unsure]

Out of high school I worked in a plywood factory. Let me tell you, that took some effort, the kind of effort that would only be worth it if you had essentially slaves find the pieces to put that puzzle together like that.

But (correct me if I am wrong) HDF is not wood, its High Density Fiber, same as a
sheet of MDF but a little tougher due to the higher density.

So what you show in the photo is a sheet with HDF on both faces and a plywood core.

Good for painted work or rough work such as shop cabinets but not stained cabinets
or furniture.

Lumber core plywood used to have all kinds of junk in it. You don't see it much but I
remember it when I worked in a lumber yard 40+ years ago.

Bob, yes you are correct...as I stated in my post I use the HDF for painted or pigmented lacquer. The same brand, Garnica, makes veneered ply also for furniture grade work. They also have prefinished maple and birch. The core composition is the same for the veneered ply as well.

I go so far as to agree that the plywood does look nice.

as long as there is no rocks and little pebble stones inside of the plywood it is OK  [embarassed]

I have tried multiply times to post some good face shots as Seth requested but for some reason I can't post photos. I've been using  this for about two years with great results I usually go through about two units a month. We only do high residential cabinets and we were having a lot of problems from Columbia forest products once they changed there adhesive formula to meet new CARB compliance we were dealing with a lot of core de-laminations and veneer splits. Garnica has none of these issues and it's lighter.

It's a product of Spain not China so you don't have to worry about all the foreign objects that can be found in that Chinese crap.

My supplier also stocks Garnica and my experience with it has been similarly positive.  I think for the last purchase I made this year for a cabinet build the 3/4" maple prefinished both sides was around $90 a sheet and the 1/2" maple prefinished one side was in the mid-$60's a sheet for small orders.

Bob, any chance you could share what prefinished and unfinished 3/4 maple is going for per sheet? Looks like great stuff!

I'll get in touch with my rep. I used the prefinished birch for a vanity and it looks just fine and I do recall it was less in cost than the maple.

I'll post back when I get more info!

I know I still owe you guys some face shots of the Pluma. I went through 40 sheets and forgot. I will on my next order.

Much appreciated. Is the prefinished birch 13 layer Baltic birch multiply? If so, that would be much better than the typical 7 ply veneer core maple if the price is right. Any photos and pricing is welcome.
