Used my new of 1400 for the first time today. Amazingly smooth. I have owned my share of routers in the past. I was looking something mid-sized with dust collection. Owning a half dozen or so other festool tools, I know how impressive they can be. I really debated the router though. How much better could it be? A lot is the answer.
Well designed tools are so much nicer to use.

Glad to read a good story  [thumbs up].  Now that you have used the router you can start exploring all the various accessories that will help make it even better in so many situations.

Of course if you any questions or need help we have a ton of 1400 users here standing by to help out!

An OF 1400 was one of the first Festools I purchased.  It is current the only router I own.  It is great to use and very flexible…..especially with some of the accessories.  I used my today.  Nothing special...just rounded over the edges of some shelves I am building but it was joy to use as always.

Love mine, it's not had a huge amount of use just yet but the speed and ease of fitting and removing the guidebush justified the extra cost over other routers.  My Trend T11 will be taking up permanenet residency in a table (built with the OF1400) shortly.

Superb dust extraction and the integration with the Guide Rail are icing on the cake for me.

For 2 days ago. I received my of1400.  Not my first router. Before the of1400 i had the mafell lo50e. Sold this because it wasn't Accurate. Yesterday i have tried the of1400. And i'm lovin it. Only the bit changing is a huge step forward. What was that easy .  Also the parrallel guide is awesome. Better guidance.  I'm in a doubt if i gonna buy the guide rail of festool. Because i already have the mafell rails. Im wonder if its possible to use the guidance part for the of1400 to use on the mafell guide rails.
