Sammer:
First off congratulations on launching a web site. Other than a generic listing, I don't even have one.
I am currently building my site so this topic is of particular interest.
Focus
As others here have stated you do a lot. The diversity is dizzying and it will be difficult for visitors to your site to understand what you really do well. I would suggest that you look at the projects you want to do and feature those vs. mentioning everything you have ever done. If you can't make up your mind, pick the projects with the best examples (photo's stories etc.) and use those. I believe that the key to all good marketing is focus.
Tell a story
You have done some nice projects. As Vinny has mentioned a before and after shot with some explanation/captioning of the pictures will help. Not only will this help visitors to your site understand how you work and solve problems but you will rank better on search engine returns when customers are looking for someone to help them with similar projects.
Flash and HTML 5
I agree with Kevin and others here who recommend that Flash is going to be a problem. I would definitely re-engineer the site so that it is HTML 5 compatible so users with iPads can see your site. If the market for your services in New Zealand are anything like they are here, iPad users are a large and growing market.
Spelling and Grammar
Make sure your spelling and grammar (sentence structure) are correct. If you read some of my posts you can see that this is problem for me too. It is often difficult as the creator, author and engineer to get enough separation to objectively review and edit your site. We (I) often over look or miss words in sentences that should be there. Ask a friend or family member to read and correct your writing, grammar and spelling. Better yet, hire an English or literature student or teacher to review your site.
Add an "About You/Us" page
As others have pointed out explaining your "doctor" moniker in an about me page will help personalize your site and increase retention of your name. Dr. Sammer is an interesting and memorable brand name, I would definitely build on it just as HoneydoKreg has his. An "About you/us" page also helps get a better ranking on search returns which in turn should increase inquiries.
Good luck.
