Xmas Pressie Prototypes

Hi Guys

Getting to that time of year when I'm going through the scraps bin to come up with ideas for client giveaways at Xmas.
Last year our iPad / iPhone / tablet stands were a big hit and I'll make some more this year but I also had a great idea and set about making a prototype.

These will go down well here now that Autumn is giving us a regular deluge.
I wanted to use the domino and started to use it to join a tapered piece on the bottom till I thought to use them as the actual legs instead.

Any comments greatly appreciated.

I'd guess that they are used to remove boots.

Looks like a wine bottle stand to me, too small for a boot remover in my opinion.

Yes they are "welly" boot pullers. Very popular here for leaving at your back door to save an embarrassing bend over and heave ho to get your wellies off.
The design is just supposed to grab the top of the sole at the heel so doesn't need to be a massive "V" and these are still being tested by us here at home.

I originally wanted a brand iron but couldn't get enough detail into a small disk do opted for laser cut.
They are 35mm dia so easy cut with a hole cutter to depth and glued in.

Not wanting to hijack Scott's thread, but I just wanted to add my recommendation for woodcard.co.uk.

I got some done with my logo on a couple of months ago, and they're fantastic:

The level of detail they can achieve is amazing. Mine are 40mm diameter as they didn't think my logo would work so well at 35mm, but I managed to pick up a decent 40mm forstner bit for a reasonable price.

I'd recommend giving them a call rather than just going on the website, as there are other options for materials/thicknesses that aren't listed.
