Hi all,

Wondering has anyone any experience with the Anti Static Dust Extraction Set (577280). I need a Y splitter and the extraction set with the two hoses is not that much more expensive than the spliiter alone (452898). However, can't seem to find out if the set is the exact same splitter with two hoses attached or something different. I want the ability to  remove the hoses completely and block off one port with the blanking plug (not sure does the set come with the blanking plug),

Thanks any advice anyone has,

Ryan

It's not the same at all. The set (577280) has two hoses "permanently" attached, a D36 and a D27 one
The Y piece (452898) can fit two hoses of any type; it's "male" end goes into the vac and the other side has two openings identical as what the vac has.

Also note that the set did away with some of the swivel joints you would have when using two normal houses and the Y-piece 452898.

The set is mainly intended for use with saw tables, CMS, etc; places where the lack of swivel joints doesn't matter as the setup is rather stationary. If you have a CS50 / CS70 / TKS80 / ... get the set.

You can remove the individual hoses from the set, but it's not intended for that, just as you don't assemble / disassemble hose-ends regularly.

There is no plug provided either. You can make your own to block off the D27 hose if you do a blind groove cut with the table saw and like the extra extra dust extraction on the D36 hose.

Note that older versions of the Y-set are not anti-static. 488292 was released as non-antistatic and only got a silent upgrade near the end of life of that SKU. The new number was I think only given when it got that horrible new hose-end with the bleed valve.

Hi Coen,

That is exactly the info I was looking for thank you! I think I will stick with the Y-piece alone as I don't have the stationary router table that would make the set worthwhile.

Thanks again!

Hi!

I purchased the 577280 and cannot figure out how to attach the "raw ends of the hoses to the splitter. I cna't get them pushed all the way in, and they wont "screw" in. Suggestions? Thanx! hb

The hoses are a reverse screw - you are screwing them in the right way aren't you?
