Yet another shop made boom arm.

After only having a CT22 for little over a week, I decided I was already getting sick of the dreaded hose drag.  It's not the prettiest, but it might be the least expensive.

I'm sure you'll like your new boom arm.  A couple of suggestions however:

Your contraption will be far less prone to tipping over if you turn the boom arm 180 degrees such that it hangs over the vac rather than how it is shown.  And if you do so, you may also elect to add a little length (reach) to your arm.

I highly recommend that you upgrade the other hose in your system to an anti-static hose.  A length of D50 would work nicely.  And  one of their Anti-Static Hose Sleeves to make the connection with your hose.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I've only done a couple of test runs with it, so I'm sure I'm going to make some changes (in line with what you've suggested.)
I don't think it will tip over (famous last words), since the weight of the mdf cabinet counteracts the cantilever/reach of the arm.  I was trying to match the height and reach of the festool boom as closely as I could, but I have plenty of conduit left over if/when I need to add some reach to the arm.  I'll know more tomorrow when I start cutting up my next job.

As far as upgrading the hose...maybe next month when I close out a couple of jobs [big grin]

You're welcome John.  Looking again at your setup, I noticed that you have a Systainer attached to the CT.  Accessing that looks like an issue.  Maybe cutting out all but the edges of the top might cure that -- but then again, maybe not.

it's just a systaner with my c12 that I threw on top of the 22, gonna remove it.  The extra room above the vac has been marked for "future expansion", most likely drawers to hold clamps, saw blades, and anything else I can fit in them.
