Cheers to All Festoolingers!

Since my DF500 is new and I am new here - I would highly appreciate if You would share Your best projects with your Domino and enlight us before I start with not the best project in Festool-Hills-Heaven.

Thank you and looking forward seing your BestFestoolProject with Your  DF500

J.C.

One of my favorite things to do with my Domino df500 is putting Dominos in mitered door casings.  It makes a very strong joint that won't open up.  I no longer use my biscuit jointer.  It's a great tool and use it as much as I can with my projects.

Thanks Tyler.

I also truely want to use it as much als I can- not to speak of avoiding any screw where I can
;-)

This was a fun project for one of my client. I use the 500 to attach the rafters to the side rails.

Another fun project. I used the 500 to make mortises for the functional louvres on my chicken coop.
Good thread
Rick

Rick. Thank you.

Perfect. I like the variety and also that there is exactly  this Festooling Fun Movie Running in the Head  - is it not?!

J.C.

;-)

Yes the festooling fun movie is playing, with Van Morrison singing the sound track ;)

This is one of my favourite creations with the use of Dominos.  I call it "Pegboard a-la-Dominos".

Nightstand for my daughter. All Dominos -  no mortise and tenons. The only other joints were dovetails for the drawer box. After this project I would always choose the Domino instead of the time and effort it would take to do mortise and tenon joints.

The DF500 was my first Festool. I needed to do two cabinets with 45 degree sides in an effort to improve egress and maximize storage in our small kitchen. Without that tool it would have been beyond the scope of my practice, as they say. I'd love to get the XL but can't justify it's cost. Traditional mortise and tenon works just as well with the uses I would have for it, although it's not as convenient.

A couple of my favorite Domino projects are this curved glass top table, which is made from 5 semi-circular sections Dominoed together and my "Z" table.

Hi,

I am a cabinetmaker in Fall River.  The domino makes building strong, square cabinets so easy.  It makes building cabinets like putting Lego together.  I want to domino everything.  This little built in has something like 140 dominos.  Excessive probably, easy yes, each one perfectly cut, absolutely.

I did this bed frame and used the domino for every joint. Believe it or not but there is over 250 dominos in it.

Nice work but those are Cello's.  Still a cool project.  Wish they had something like that when I played in the symphony.

Let's just call it an 8 sided stand. I was able to use the dominos on the tight setting for all the joints. The steel straps are part of the design but also used for clamping the glue up.

You are correct. My daughter was given a cello tuned as a bass until she was big enough for a real bass. I corrected the post -- thanks.

Now you need the Domino XL to make Bass holders!
