I have had 3 issues over a period of 11 years.
The first issue was with the OF 2000 router.
The first time I used it, the collet was not tightened enough and I damaged the threads.
It was completely my fault.
Festool picked up the tool from the site I was working on, left me a replacement for 1 week and then delivered the router to the site again the following week.
The second issue was with the Trion jigsaw.
The carbide guides were completely worn down.
I had been using different thickness blades and had not adjusted the guides for three years.
I thought that just the guides would be replaced.
Festool replaced the whole chuck which holds the blade and the guides.
The third issue was with the Protool 18 Volt Cordless drill.
When you applied pressure when drilling timber or metal, the drill would make beeping noises, as if the batteries were flat.
I was told by the service department that the electronics inside the drill were fried.
A new circuit board and the drill works perfectly now.
So out of three issues, two could have been prevented. Operator error so to speak!
The one serious issue that really bugged me was the Protool drill. After it got serviced, it has been flawless.
28 Tools in 11 years and 1 repair.
Thats not too bad.
Justin.
