Discovered a couple weeks ago while catching up on the forum that the Mini 3 existed, and I immediately decided had to have some.  All of my systainers are Festool branded, so I didn't want any odd-man outs in the regular Tanos gray/blue branding.

Off to eBay I went, where I had previously purchased 10 Festool mini's for way cheaper than buying them in the US.  Found a number of people selling them out of Germany (like the 10 mini's I had previously purchased).  Picked the best overall deal after shipping, and 10 days later they are in my garage.

Going to use for some of my 12V tools and some of various small bits that are just a little to big for a Mini but will work in a Mini 3 on an angle.  I keep my GoPro and accessories in 2xMini's so will probably move that to a Mini 3 with some kind of insert to divide it into top/bottom halves.

Total spend was $42.40/ea after shipping and conversion from EUR.  I'm sure it's against Festool's arrangements with their dealers to sell stuff across country borders, but plenty of them have no problem doing it, at least with systainers.  All in, a little under $6/ea price premium to source Festool ones overseas vs. the Tanos ones at Woodcraft (tax also factored into price)

I also got a Sortainer SYS-4 on Amazon last week, and I see myself getting some more of those, and SYS-Combi's.  Those drawers are going to prove way more useful than I expected, but man are they pricey.  Maybe I need to look for better deals out of Germany on eBay!

I don't understand why the Festool-branded Mini 3's haven't made it to NA yet.

Tanos sells the Mini3 in light gray and anthracite with various organizers through Woodcraft (34.99 I believe), and they must have some sort of exclusivity on this, because I have yet to see any other US dealer (e.g. Lee Valley) with them.

Hmm, didn't know about that one either. Looks nice. 22 bucks (euro's) each.

Haha, ridiculous. That's €82. In Germany these boxes cost less than €20 each;https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/OffersOfProduct/5498885_-t-loc-sys-mini-202544-festool.html
That is including the 19% German VAT; shops can exempt buyers from outside the EU of that VAT. That means they come down to €16,81. But yeah, it seems none want to ship to the USA. And shipping for smaller companies / private citizens is expensive. But still; these boxes weigh 399 gram each, so put three in a package, add 800 gram of packaging material, ship insured to €100, with track and trace; that's €26,80 shipping. Or with DHL straight from Germany; up to 5 kg; €38

How many do you need?

I'm curious - do people really need the Festool logo/color on these?  $35 from Woodcraft for the plain version doesn't seem like such a bad deal.

The OP posted that he would rather have all Festool branded systainers.  Obviously that decision is a personal one.

If you get like 8 of these from Germany, you can already beat that price with one package.  [tongue]

And oh; this one is already cheaper than your screenshot;https://www.ebay.com/itm/Festool-MI...2519769683?epid=731553636&hash=item2a7f06aa53:g:syEAAOSwS1Bajxg~

€26,90 shipping first Systainer + €3,90 for each next one, Systainer itself €28

So if you buy two,  you get €26,90+€3,90+2*€28 = € 86,8 = $ 107. Or say $110 after Paypal fake exchange rate, for two of these boxes.

That is the seller I purchased from.  $26.90 EUR covered all 5 systainers on the order, total was $166.90 EUR which translated to $212.86 USD when processed through PayPal.

Same here.. recently found that the Mini 3 existed via Woodcraft here in NA and I, as well, immediately decided that I need (aka Want) to have some. I own/use the standard size Mini TL and have been wishing they where a little deeper. Although non-Festool scheme so I  went with 2 in the Anthracite. Like you said "gotta have em" strange how that works ain't it  [big grin]

I used the above German source. The deduct the VAT. That is 19% off. The shipping was very reasonable and it worked out fantastic. I ordered a bunch to fill the Box. :)

[member=34636]HDClown[/member] I noticed that the mini-3 from Tanos has the same label card slot as the larger systainers. My FT Mini does not. Does the FT Mini-3 have this label card slot? I'm assuming the FT systainer mold is a Tanos. Wonder who holds that patent.

The FT Mini 3 is slotted to accept a label insert cover piece, just like the regular size systainers, but the FT Mini is not.

I looked at some pictures of a Tanos branded Mini and those don't look like they are slotted.

I ordered from these guys. I received my order the next day in NY. I’m not sure how that’s even possible. Shipping is expensive unless you order some volume. I ordered 10 items, and the shipping was about $60 USD, which is reasonable. It saved me a bundle over buying from a US seller.
