Here's my entry into the 2015 Festool video contest

The reason behind the title, $2,000 Festool Clock came from the price of the 2 Domnios used to make the clock! lol

Hope you enjoy & Thanks for watching! - Lance

I liked the  drone footage entering your shop.

Me too - but it stole one of the ideas I had! Oh well - great minds and all that...

Nice!

Just one question.... Why was the clock's second hand turning backwards at 3:25??  [blink]

Cheers,

Frank

Nice job on the clock and video.  What did you fill the domino holes on the face with ?  It looks translucent.  If so, a small led light behind the clock might look pretty cool.

very nice lance! always a fan of your work and appreciate the time it takes to produce a yt vid!

Wow! Awesome clock! Very smart with the Dominos too, great video Lance.

wow, what a poor choice of words and of spirit;  even in jest, it's gauche...

Lance, that is beautiful work, elegantly executed and a wonderfully done video.  I hope you win.  Thanks for taking the time to share.

Hi Lance

That is an excellent video and a super bit of woodwork.

Your camera work, especially putting it on the moving board, is brilliant and I will try and do this myself. You have created a great story which needs no dialogue and yet conveys so much detail. Also, your video editing is spot on and I wish that I could come halfway to your standard.

I have not looked at any other contest entries but I wish you luck.

Well done.

Peter

Hi Lance

That was really a cool idea to use the dominos as the points on the clock.  Nice project there...and I enjoyed the video, as well.

It looks like you really have put together a great shop.

Really cool.  You obv used a go pro camera for the shots with the camera attached to the wood but what other cameras did you use ?  Like for the time lapse bit ?

Cheers.

You may or many not have seen this, but since you used casting resin for the "numbers" it may be interesting to either dye the resin or mix in a glow in the dark powder. Here is a link to an example using pecky cypress: http://www.instructables.com/id/Glow-table/. Might be cool to have one that glows in the dark.

I am almost done with making a coffee table with this method using pecky cypress and it definitely works pretty well. I used glow powder from this website: http://kosmickreations.net/. Pretty low tech site, but the stuff is great and cheaper than anywhere else I could find.

What a wonderful clock and equally great video, as many others have pointed out your skills in both are admirable and worthy of consideration in this contest - good luck.

Teocaf - I honestly think WOW meant his comment as a compliment - the whole "great minds" thing.  Your welcome to your opinion that his words may have lacked sufficient grace to meet your standards but I can't imagine questioning the spirit of his comment. Few go out of their way to help and support others here as much as he does. I trust that wasn't really what you meant to imply.
