Now that I have my energy back  [scared], one of my wishes and one of the things on my personal to do list has been to investigate the possibility of regional get togethers for FOG members and other Festool enthusiasts.  The first step is to determine if there would be enough interest before going further.  Please note that this is my personal investigation at this point.  There are no guarantees that this will or won't happen, nor is this to imply or state that Festool or the FOG is interested in doing this at this point.  I merely want to accumulate some information so that I can bring the information forward in a concise manner in an attempt to make something like this happen.

My hope is that these would be two day events with demos and training, but after the daily activities attendees would have the ability to break off and interact with each other in person.

You thoughts, comments, and ideas are welcome.  Like I said, I am just testing the waters.

Have fun.

Peter

Awesome that you said this!  I was talking to Kreg about it at JLC. He also questioned if there would be enough interest. I am totally up for something of this nature!  Of course some will have to travel further than others, bit I think it'd be a great time!

Sounds good and I voted for closest two states (Indiana and Pennsylvania).

It's too bad that you left out both Ontario and Michigan.

Yeah. We're dying up here in Canada for some type of classes, get together, party, or just a Festool organized drinking Fest(ool).

I would vote for Dublin, awesome place, and Alan could introduce all our NAINA cousins to the best beer in the world Guinness.

Count me in!
Just about any place or time will work for me, but if its in the winter, lets pick someplace down south.

A UK event would be cool. Lets all the UK members get together and ask Festool Uk about hosting one, with the demos and training etc. Oh Forgot Festool UK are not interested in their customers, we are just an inconvenience they have to deal with to earn their money.

Sad But True

Why not hold them at the festool sites in LV and Indy? Maybe some how to seminars, show some prototype tools or some of the tools they have in europe that we cant get here, folks bring some projects in for some sort of contest, etc...

I would be in, depending on location and if it fits my schedule. Anything close (8hrs or so drive) to Ontario Canada works for me!

Three Canadians looking for something closer to Ontario/Toronto.  Maybe we need to look at the metro-Detroit area as well.  Would serve many from the Chicago side of things as well and south into the Indy area.  I've noticed a good following of Foggers from the lower Michigan area as well that might be interested.

I see only three of us voted for Washington, My vote would be for Spokane as it's pretty central for those of us in the Montana, Idaho. On the plus side there's a boutique distillery and brewery there. Boise, Id. would be good also.
