2015 Festool Catalog Error

I am fairly new to Festool and recently I have been looking for the T18 +3 drill advertised in the new 2015 Festool Catalog.  I have not been able to find it as advertised.  I just called Indianapolis and they checked the inventory and the eccentric chuck was not included in the inventory sets they have.  He called me back and stated it was a printing error in the 2015 catalog and thanked me for bringing it to their attention.  I just wanted to give a heads up to anyone else trying to find this drill as shown on page 121 in the new catalog and that it will not come with the eccentric chuck.  Errors happen and just wanted to save anyone else the time looking for that item.

Also, thanks to everyone here who has helped me in so many ways with all of your postings on FOG.  Woodworking is going to be a retirement hobby for me.  You are a great group!!

It might be you are looking at the wrong item number.  There are three versions

T18 Basic (564620)
- drill
- key less chuck
- centrotec chuck
- centrotec bit holder
- in a sys 2

T18 (564574)
- all above plus
- charger
- 2 batteries

T18 set (564575)
- all above plus
- right angle chuck
- eccentric chuck

All the T18 sets I've had through the shop have had the eccentric chuck.

It is the T 18+3 -  564 574, $495.00 version.  It lists the Eccentric chuck as included, but that is an error according to the gentleman I spoke with in the Indianapolis Festool Site.

The Highland Woodworking site lists the "Complete Set" 564524 at $575. It specifically lists the 90 degree and the offset eccentric chuck as being included along with2 batteries and the standard chucks.

I bought this set about 6 months ago and really like the drill. It is a STRONG drill. I can't imagine needing either of the new, more powerful, drills. Darn!

Now, if they would offer the TSX, I'd have a big smile on my face.

I find that the top speed of the PDC, 3800 rpm vs 1500 for the T18 is a good enough reason for having both

I find that drills of 1/8" or smaller work much better at the higher speed, particularly into metal

As much as I like the CXS because it's so small & convenient, when I need to drill a series of small holes in wood or metal, I reach for  the C 15 (1500 RPM) or the Milwaukee M18 (1800 RPM).

It would be nice in the next generation of the CXS to include EC-TEC Brushless technology along with a max RPM of 1500-1800. [2cents]

I can concur, the error is in there.  Noticed it but didn't alert anyone.

The t18's in the catalog should be either with the eccentric chuck and angle chuck or without said chucks.

To confuse you further, the prices were inaccurate by the time the catalog hit vendors.  They, both, should be $50 less than stated (4.2 mah versions).

To further confuse you furthermore further, as of June 1st, there's three more T18 sets.  The catalog shows 4.2 mah sets (they are still floating around).  However, there are 5.2 mah sets out there now as well as a bare tool kit (no eccentric, no angle, no batteries, no charger).
