24 grit or 36 grit for paint removal with the RAS?

Well, I'd say more info is required. Specifically, what type of paint, how thick, how old, and what is it currently stuck to?

Honestly, 24 or 36 makes very little difference. The lowest grit I use with my Rotex is 50 and I find that more than sufficient. In my experience you do too much damage to the surface with lower grits, which you have to restore again by even more sanding. With the Rotex, I do the rough work with Saphir 50 and then clean up with Briliant 80 and 120.

I've used both and both work well. Paint is removed rapidly with either one.  Ras total rocks.  [smile]

the paint is ancient, lead, unkown number of layers.  Were bidding to strip/paint the entire exterior of a garage  [eek]
