3 MFT tables side by side

Wondering if anyone has any input/advice regarding best practice for setting up multiple MFT/3 tables and still getting the most out of the protractor/track capabilities. I'm not sure this setup is going to work at this point or not, don't think I have seen anyone set them up like this [attachimg=1]

I would look for someone selling the old style Kapex extensions. They can be used as the MFT fence mounted to the MFT. The Protactor and the little black plastic clamp fits it perfectly and it can be extended out to 8 ft and has a built in tape measure that will expand out when you expend the fence..

I'm only 5-11 so this would not work for me. I could never reach across that wide a table comfortably or safely.

I use mine length wise it works good for me. If I need to cut something longer I would put the rail length wise using the PGs I also got the mft extension in case I need something wider/longer

Thanks. Yeah I’m shorter than you I just fully extend the protractor to make it a little less of a lean.

Re the extensions: That’s a great idea! Not sure where I could find those extensions though. I plan to utilize this as an assembly table as well so I appreciate the extra space. Would you mind sending a pic of your setup?

I can see using four MFT/3s in a 2x2 configuration for assembly work.

Then wouldn't using two MFTs end-to-end accomplish the same thing? Plenty of support left and right and if you're going to bring the protractor forward  in your configuration the available cut capacity won't be much greater (if at all) than the narrow dimension of the MFT/3.

You could always put the fence assembly on the front of the table and place the workpiece on the backside. Jerry Work illustrated that technique in the past. As long as you don’t let the work drift away from the fence it allows you the benefit of having it close to you. No reach issues and the left hand can keep the work tight to the fence.

Thanks, that's an interesting idea coming at it from the front side. Basically I just need a larger table and I utilize the MFT for wider ply pieces I can't fit onto the kapex

I love the look of your setup.  Never thought about removing the legs.  Would be much greater stability.

Rocker tables I believe...Matt’s documented the build nicely...use the search..starts with sketch up mft hole patterns or something like that
