I got my CT SYS last week (thanks toolnut!) and have been loving it for some small sanding and edging tasks that normally would entail me lugging my CT 26 around the house.  So far, I have been a fan and so has my wife (for cleaning out the QX!)

I need to trim down a door that hits the top of the jamb.  It is a 18" wide door and only need 2-3mm off so I was thinking of using the small SYS vac... and it worked brilliantly!  This was in a bedroom to bathroom opening and it didnt drop any chips that I could tell.  I am really loving this mini vac!

So, this begs the question... any of you get the long life bag?  If so, do you feel it is a compromise by getting dust and debris all over when dumping it?

Cheers.  Bryan.

Bryan,

I used the CT SYS with my 2200 to route a slot in solid surface tops. I'm considering the long life bag, it would be the only one I own.

I have a long life bag for the CT-SYS and it works without problems - but you'll have a dust cloud when emptying it (as one would expect when shaking out sawdust from a cloth bag).

An option, should you return to the shop without the need to empty it in the meanwhile, is to use the CT26 to vacuum it out ;)

I dump out the contents of the bag from my CT26 on the floor of my shop right next to a hose from my dust collector.  It only takes a minute or two and all of my dust stays captured.

I don't want to hijack the thread but does the CT SYS have on board storage for an extra bag like the other vacs do?

Not sure. I keep extra bags under the bag in use on my 33. Mini ad Midi do have the bag storage, my 22 I use the fleece bags, no place for those on/in it.

You can squeeze an extra bag between the CT-SYS itself and the hose garage above it, or under the bin that holds the bag - but both options are *cough*. Better to find some space in a systainer.

I don't think it does. The cardboard "gate" is on the top and clips onto the Systainer. I am sure you could position one under the bag in use, but I am most likely going to have my tradesman kit attached via Sys-1, so I can throw one or two in there.

Same here Tom.  I have been fine with emptying the dust/chip brick from my 26.  $80.00 for a life bag doesn't break the bank and is a bit more flexible when I need it.  As a matter of fact... $20.00 for 5 bags doesn't seem too bad either.

Let me know if you get one, that might push me over the edge.

cheers.  Bryan.

You don't need to make dust cloud, just hold a garbage bag round the open end when you shake it out.

So I picked one up Tom. Really makes the product more complete. I will keep a bag or two around when I need the true HEPA capabilities, but so far this seems like a winner.

See you in a few days!

Cheers. Bryan.

Thanks (for nothing [big grin]), I'll add it to the order I have pending.

[member=4105]tjbnwi[/member]  Woh -- 2200 with the CT-Sys.  And you don't get clogging?  Do you switch out for a 36mm hose?  Is it because solid surface routing produces finer chips than wood?

The solid surface was polyester. Comes off in slices similar to a power planner chip but smaller. Had no issues with clogging.

If it was acrylic it comes off as powder.
