Hi,

Anybody has an idea?
There is a screw that I took out but the guide still wouldn't come off, may be I should push/pull a little not sure, don't want to break it.

The reason I need to take it off - I need to go right against the wall, close to the wall as much as I can, and the guide is in the way.

And another question - the chips mostly go into into the bag but some portion in the opposite direcion through the slide there. Not very much trouble but I thought may someone came up with an idea how to block the opening on the side opposite to the one where chip bag is.

Thanks for your time.

Anatoliy:

You can go flush to the wall with the 850 without taking anything off. There is a green lever on the body of the planer underneath the front handle. Push it all the way forward and it pops up the cover. Push it to the left and it moves it out of the way so you can go flush.

You must have the diverter only partially to one side because mine diverts absolutely everything. I'd check inside to see if there's a chip caught in it or something.

Thanks Tom,

Didn't realize you can push it to the left. I should start reading manuals at last :-)

You're welcome, Anatoliy.

You should definitely use the green button to operate that cover. In the flipped up position, the blade is exposed and it is REALLY sharp!
