About to take the plunge

OF 1400 +1, paying a little extra to get a whole lot more of a machine.
MFT/3 is a great table.  And I have it myself.  It's a purchase that can quickly get you started into your projects.  But if you have time, a great first project with all these new tools is a work bench.  And maybe the savings could discount the cost of the LR32.
TS75 +1 - Again, the extra weight is not a big deal as compared to the extra cutting depth.
ETS 150/3 +1
DF 500 is awesome plus the assortment kit

Two guide rails attached will work, but becomes a pain due to constantly checking for straightness because it can easily get knocked out of alignment.  I got the 2700 and it is worth it.

If you ever intend on getting the MFT, the only tool you can get a package discount is with one of the plunge saws.  Every other tool that has a dust collection port you can also purchase as a package with the dust extractor.  Purchasing packages will save you money but only if you plan to eventually get the MFT.

Is this true? If so, I am, REALLY bummed that I didn't know it before I bought my TS. I guess I am within my 30 days - how do I do a return of what I bought so I can get the discount on the MFT I had panned to buy later?

Not true. At festoolproducts.com you can add mft to any of the tools for 10% off...

Sorry, but according the catalog, package discounts for the MFT are only applicable to the TS55 and TS75 saws.  FWIW, I tried adding an MFT/3 to the cart where a tool is included at the referenced website and (drum roll please) - no 10% discount is applied.  If you know of some secret code or handshake, then let it be known because I would love to get a 10% discount and add an MFT/3 basic to a tool purchase.

The super secret code is: pick any power tool, click "10% off vacuums", click mft.  Done

I also have the Betterly and think it's great (though not sure about the old fashioned blue color), I just wasn't going there yet since he's just starting out.

Thanks - evidently the MFT/3 basic is not an option.  Oh well.

I think 'll order the dust extractor for the Bosch if it can be connected to the CT.

I'm not familair with the Bosch jigsaw.  Does it have a dust extraction port? Everythign I saw says "no", but maybe on the side not shown in the picture of it.

I bought a TS 55 REQ recently, but use my Ridgid shop vac.  I ordered the Bosch VAC005 5 meter hose from Amazon for $35.  Its connector looks exactly like the Festool hose (Amazon picture is wrong), and fits perfectly into the track saw.  (Sadly, it is just gray in color, but what do you expect for $35 ...)  Anyway, if your jigsaw has a port (and assuming it was meant to hook up to a Bosch hose), you should be able to connect just fine to the CT.

Welcome to the fog Wndll.  You mentioned you were going to be making cabinets.  I highly recommend you consider taking a days worth of work and for about $250 in material make the Ron Paulk Ultimate workbench.  It's a huge MFT and I have found it amazing for cutting sheet goods, ripping and cross cutting, as well as it gives you a large area to glue up face frames and such. Using the cross cut rail and some dogs, you get a large table to square anything you are building.  The festool dog clamps are great with it.  Having a 4x8 MFT is the best thing And you can modify the design to fit your needs if you so choose.  I didn't buy the hole drilling system, instead I bought a 3000 rail and with my of1400 router and 20 mm bit I followed a grid I carefully marked out.  If you get the holy rail and the LR32 system it will help, but I found my holes are perfect or very close to it.  The table has helped me so much it's hard to describe the joy it is to use.

Bosch jigsaw has dust collection as an accessory I use in conjunction with my Fein vac.  Works great.  I have had my barrel grip a long time (still requires screw driver to change bits).  I love my Festools (TS75, multiple tracks, two sanders, 850 planer, and about 25 SYSs but cannot justify the tariff for the new Carvex.  PS I use mine in industrial/commercial work.
