Good Morning,
You'll notice that many members have text that appears below their names on every post. You'll also notice that members often have a clickable Web accress below their posts, or a photo or other image that appears below their names.
Recently, I've received several questions from members about all this, so I decided to put together a tutorial to help everyone do it.
This is all handled through your forum "profile," which you access this way:
1. Click on the "Profile" button in the the main menu at the top of the forum window
2. Click on "Forum Profile Information"
Inside the profile screen, here's how to add material that appears below every post:
1. Add text you want to see in every post by typing in the "Signature:" block
2. Add a Web address you want to see in every post by typing in the "Website URL:" box
3. Make the Web address added in step 2 more friendly by typing in the "Website title:" box (this replaces the URL with more readable text)
Here's how to add a photo below your name (your "avatar"):
1. Choose a stock image by clicking on "Personalized Picture:" then on "[Actors]" or "[Musicians]" (sorry I never added more stock photos)
2. If you have a Web address with the photo you'd like to use, click on "I have my own pic:" and add the URL
3. If you have a photo on your computer you would like to use, click on "I will upload my own picture:" then click "Browse" and follow prompts to locate your photo
4. If you choose, click on "Personal Text:" and type in any descriptive words you want to add below your avatar
This kind of material is especially nice if you have a Web site or blog you would like to publicize through the forum, or if you have a business. It also makes the forum more interesting, as people get to express themselves a little more.
Hope that helps people personalize their posts a little more.
Thanks,
Matthew
