Advice needed on best stand for traveling Kapex

I see now the option but a few questions I have would be; are they adjustable??? For different size crown and also what about small pieces?? Even kitchen cabinet returns look like they could be a problem??

After looking at Shane's post it's obvious they are adjustable for different size crowns.
There is no question I love Festool products and will possibly pick up the cart and wings in the future !!!

When I bought my Kapex I looked at the crown stops.  In order to cut returns safely I would have needed to use large pieces.  The shown reversal has the same issue.  I passed and built my own out of scrap.

One option that I use is the fastcap extensions mounted on a dewalt stand.

I find the rolling stands to be bulkier when stored and if you can't roll to the spot then any kind of carrying is a pain-usually in the back.

The full fastcap stand with all the parts attached, I find, is similar to us FOG'ers wanting to put everything in a systainer. Sometimes things are better separate. It's too huge and heavy for my taste just for the sake of trying to do it in one trip. I'd rather make a couple quick, comfortable trips with small easily stored pieces myself.

The UG cart seems to me to be quite a good one. For a roller you really aren't adding too much to the size of the saw when stored. The saw can be removed very fast if needed and even attached is a reasonable weight. The extensions are a little narrow for some wider stock. But maybe some 1x attached to the leading edge might make all the difference.

What I like about the dewalt is that it is relatively small, easy to transport and set up, the saw attaches and removes easily, and once it is attached it has material support (although not exceptional). If I want proper continuos support I simply put the fastcap extrusions on just the same as the Festool extrusions. They can also be ganged together easily for long stock such as the ones maguire works with (or ordered in custom lengths).

I have the UG stand and it works well for me. The extensions are easy to set up and take down. Take a photo of how the extensions fit into the holders so you can get them back into the holder. You need to be careful not to bump it to hard or it may be out of level or square. VERY easy to move from place to place and works well as a unit, very Festool, cost and all.

Thanks everyone for the helpful advice and opinions. I'd seen Dave R's videos before but not this last one so thanks for bringing that up. It seems like the UG is the best way for me since I tend to do alot of smaller jobs and the kitchen installs always have small trim. I'll probably make something like the little cutoff station with the variable clamp that was shown in another video for that little stuff.

Any other opinions, etc are certainly still welcome!

That set up Dave has is sweet, absolutely sweet. If I could justify buying a Kapex I would seriously consider that stand. I hadn't look this closely at it in th epast but I love it. I just can't see getting a Kapex if it's not making me $$. I am a weekend warrior, do side work. Love nice tools though!! Awesome set up.

These are also available Kapex  crown UG extension bracket

I have seen them set up and they look to be quite well made.

I've done some research, and the relatively new Fastcap V2 system looks pretty good.  A couple of you have mentioned it in this thread.  What do people think of it?  I'm particularly considering the version for the Dewalt miter saw stand (DWX723).  For those of you using that version, do you need the entire Fastcap kit?  I'm thinking especially of the "precision adjustment blocks."  There are 4 of them in the kit and, at a cost of $75 each (even with the package discount), they add considerably to the price of the kit.  That said, they appear to be the mounting blocks for the wings, so perhaps there's no good way to avoid buying 4, assuming you want wings to the left and right.  I'm just looking for a reasonable way to reduce the price tag, if that's possible.
