Guys, could you take a look at this for me: MFT table for sale

The seller is including a number of accessories with the table. What I can't make out is what all the accessories are used for. I'm interested in the table only but I'd like to know if the attachments are useful and what they are all used for. I can't quite make out what's on the guide rail and what's on and in front of the carton. Comments appreciated.

The thing on the rail slides over the end of the rail and is used to steer/guide your cord/vacuum hose, keeps them from going somewhere they shouldn't or getting snagged.  In front of the box are the two things used for attaching the rail to the table.  One has a hinge and allows the rail to be flipped up.  Those are standard items that come with the MFT and you will want/need all of them

Peter, the MFT is not just the average workbench. It's a complete sawing station, saw excluded. This is the complete table.

Peter,

The objects sitting on top of the box are the mitre gage and knobs used to clamp it to the side rail.

The black object sitting on the guide rail attaches to the end of the guide rail and guides your cord and vac hose out of the way when you are using your track saw on the rail.

The two handled implements sitting in front of the box are used to secure the guide rail to the side rails of the MFT.  They raise and lower as required to hold your material down on the MFT.  One end is secure and pivots up and down while the other raises and lowers.  It has a tab that fits into a groove on the underside of the rail to hold it in place.  They also slide along the side rails if needed.

I don't know how to create a link but there is an excellent video on YouTube that shows you how to put the table together.  I think you will see all these componenets in use.

Thanks chaps. I'm going to watch the auction and see what happens. The new price in the UK is roughly ?480 and I suspect there will be some movement in the auction price towards the end. I don't mind getting a used one. Are there any questions you think I should ask the seller before bidding for it? From what I read, it looks like the seller is being honest about the table's condition but maybe someone has something in mind I should find out first?

Edit: Reading Neill's reply in context then it looks like the ebay seller is actually selling the complete table as he bought it.

Peter:

There are a couple of short videos on this page that will clue you in to the aspects of the table pretty effortlessly.

Thanks Tom. I spent a few minutes looking at some YouTube videos. There's some very helpful content out there. And...in here as well. ;)

Edit: I notice the ebay seller is selling a mountain of Festool tools and attachments.

Bear in mind that by bringing this auction to the attention of an audience of nearly 7000 FOG members and no doubt to tens of thousands of non-registered lurkers (albeit only a percentage of whom are in the UK), you have probably considerably decreased your own chances of getting a bargain! You may also not be too popular with some FOG members who were quietly watching or bidding on these particular auctions!

Peter heres some advice in future dont post on here about ebay auctions, i too was watching that one but now you have let even more people hear about it theres no chance of getting it now for a reasonable price. >:(

^^What Forrest said!^^ I was quietly keeping an eye on that one hoping to snipe a bargain, lol! Never mind - having watched a few MFTs on eBay, they seem to fetch crazy (high, as in close to new) prices, so it's no big deal. From the pictures the seller's posted it's a virtually new/unused MFT/3 (still has the packaging on it) so would be very nice to have.

However, the seller has a lot of virtually unused Festool gear (Rotex, MFT/3, CTL 26, Domino, PS 300 jigsaw, OF1400 etc...) bought within the last six months or so that he's suddenly trying to shift; change of circumstances (job loss, perhaps) may mean that he needs the money, of course, but if I was the lucky highest bidder on any of this I think I'd want to see proof of original purchase... ;)

Cheers - and happy bidding, Pete.

My apologies guys. I did not intend to cause any mischief when I posted. If I've scuppered any hopes you might have had sniping at the auction then I can only say I meant well with my questions. :-*

Wasn't me. Once eBay stuff gets beyond the 'half the new price' mark, I tend to lose interest fast ;)

Cheers, Pete

It was me guys. I had to think long and hard about my price. I figured the closer it crept to the new price then so more people would lose interest which was probably the case. I suppose a ringer might have sniped when the price went to ?353 hence I paid the very maximum I was prepared to go to. That GBP 90 difference might not be much to many but to me it means I can also look at a new CMS and router module to complement it. I have a use for all three. The accessories have not been used and if the guide rail has I have a spare length of tape so that I can recut it to suit my TS55 blade. My wife let me offset GBP 220 against it so it effectively only cost me GBP 140 of my own money. I'm happy with the price and I'm sure they appreciate it given the circumstances for the sale of their tools. If the condition is exactly as they say and I have no reason to doubt it, then considering there's nothing mechanical that can go wrong with it then it's fine with me. I'm not sure if the warranty is transferable here in the UK but the statutory one-year warranty you get with everything that's new will see it through for the next six months anyway. I was recently made redundant (end June) so the current season I'm in means I have to scale back on some economies. Fortunately we don't have a mortgage anymore so we still enjoy giving treats to each other. She bought all my Festool tools as a present for me a few weeks ago. I'm happy with the ebay outcome.

Hey Peter, well done - enjoy your new MFT! That 90 quid you saved'll buy you a few clamps ;)

Cheers, Pete

Thanks. I'll add comments later. I've had a few emails from the seller and I'll be collecting it later this week probably Thu/Fri. His place might be a pig of a journey to get to being in north-eastish London and that means a potentially horrible drive on the freeway on the world's biggest parking lot - the M25. Then I need a machete to hack my way through the traffic from the parking lot to Walthamstow. I'll make sure to take breakfast and a flask of coffee with me. :(
