Another Aussie joins the FOG

I've been browsing this site for quite a while and figured it was about time I joined.
I'm a builder living in Sydney Australia. Festool has changed the way I approach work and my clients and business have been benefiting from this change. These tools and the system make my work even more enjoyable.
I have learned so much from this site and am keen to help others as I have been helped.

I live in western sydney so the local stores for me are VEK tools or Sydney tools.. Both have been ok to deal with but neither know their product.. Strapped for other options unfortunately

I have had some favourable exchanges of emails with Ideal Tools:

I do not know if they are internet only or if they might have stores in your area. They seem, from the exchanges that I have had, to be very knowledgeable about all things Festool.

Ideal tools are in another state but they do post.. There is one guy at sydney tools who has a fair idea.. It's just getting him when I go in that is the issue. Festool are sending sales guys to festool training classes and that has helped with their knowledge bank. Maybe we expect too much. I tend to do a lot of research before buying tools on sites just like the FOG. I guess I get disappointed when I know more than the sales guys and it's their job? I'd like the sales guys to be more knowledgable and give sound advice, not push items that give the biggest commission

Rod, Darren and Brian at Northern Abrasives (Brookvale, Sydney Northern Beaches) are very knowledgable about their products and their power tool range is very focused.

Rod's "almost" got his web store up and running too.

Agree with your comments here. 
I know staff from VEK Tools attended this recent Head Office training and it was noticeable.
Like you, I do a lot of research before buying tools and for Festool knowledge FOG is outstanding!
