Another quarantined shop

I've completed a couple of projects for my son's pantry remodel. But before I could finish them we got locked down. So they'll be taking up valuable shop space for a while. I've got more projects to be started for my other son's home reno project. But I don't want to venture out to the sawmill for lumber right now. So desperate times call for drastic measures. Today I cleaned the shop. I don't recall it ever being this clean. Thought I'd share a photo for posterity. Stay healthy everyone.

Looks nice. I've been trying to straighten up the shop but I swear sometimes it looks worse after my attempt.

I was working on a vanity and small attached cabinets for our downstairs bathroom. I need to get some rough sawn oak and that's when stay-at-home started in Illinois. I know a one man mill in Michigan that could probably provide the lumber but don't even know if that is safe. My wife and I are just over 60 and she is immune deficient.

Looks like a very nice shop.  I would like to see more pictures on all your hoses hanging there.  I am fighting with dust hose organization and whether I need a boom arm or not.  Its amazing what fascinates me as I get older.. [big grin]

Awesome shop. Looks like you might have enough clamps.

Thanks, Don. But I once read somewhere that even God doesn't have enough clamps.

Cheers,
Barney

Hi Rick,

I have an UDD mounted above my CT26. I have a D36 hose which runs up to a homemade boom arm.

[attachimg=1]

The D36 hose is coupled to a sleeved D27 hose which rides on the boom arm. The boom arm is just a couple pieces of 8020 mounted to an old ball bearing swivel caster (with wheel removed of course).

[attachimg=2]

When needed it can be swiveled over to my homemade portable MFT cart. The extra hoses coiled up are for when the weather gets nice and I want to break down sheet goods outside.

Hope this helps. Holler if you want more info.

Cheers,
Barney

Every time I go to HD, I pick up a couple spring clamps.  At $1.00@ I now have quite a collection.

Thanks Barney, this brings up a couple options for me.  I like the 8020 and those big hooks.  I am thinking the longer D36 might be an option for me once I can get the 'swivel' process figured out.  Appreciate the extra photos and info.  Thank you.

No problem Rick,

I should have mentioned that I got the idea for the swivel boom arm here:

Hope this helps.

Cool! I went pro since that post, so I’m in a much bigger shop now (which is still under construction) with a new counterweigthed boom arm, but still the same old castor ☺️

[member=58667]beefheart[/member]  Thanks, that counterweight is an excellent addition which I shall shamelessly steal. Will definitely prolong the life of that bearing.

Cheers,
Barney
