The "loose" cap for the dust bag was annoying me, so I thought I would fix it in place.  You can peel back the bag from the frame by first unraveling the wire loom holding the ends of the frames together. I chose the lower one as it seemed the easiest to access. Once separated, collapse the frames in the bag and they will slip out of the zippered opening.  I then got some thin gauge sheet metal and attached it to the top of the wire frame where I wanted the cap to sit.  To secure it I rolled the edges around the frame and added a bead of hot glue underneath.  I then glued a magnet to the inside of the cap.  Now I can just throw the cap on the bag and it stays put. The last pic shows that you don't have to add any sheet metal, you can just stick the cap to the wire frame.

[thumbs up] [thumbs up]  sometimes it's the little things that get to us most.

That's a great idea. Thanks. I think it might be difficult to find a piece of thin metal to hold the magnet than to find a small magnet to glue to the cap. I have not had a chance to try out my HKC yet, but I will look for a magne the next time I go to my local hardware or toy store.

Sometimes when you get a new piece of tech gear (smartphone, smartwatch, etc) they come in those fancy boxes with a magnetic closure. There is a small metal disc and magnet in the box and I have salvaged a couple of them figuring I could use them for something down the road. I too find the dangling cap on my TSC55 disturbing. I don't like loose bits flopping around near a spinning blade, maybe it's just me I don't know. I will do this on my saw when I get a chance.
