Are missing and damaged parts typical? Or is it just UPS.

Again I have to agree with Brice, I have ordered from ToolNut twice and been very impressed with the customer service.

My problem order of a TS55 mentioned earlier was another online dealer, the replacement guide rail was shipped directly from Festool and while the replacement arrived in great shape the packaging was ridiculously bad.  PicturePicture  Again that was how it arrived shipped directly from Festool not a dealer.

Years ago I bought the drill bit /driver assortment from so outfit in Florida. It arrived in a loose box with one sheet of bubble wrap tape around the major axis. Of course the contents were all jumbled and not only loose in the cardboard box but the extra drill bits for the countersinks where missing along with about 15 driver bits. Florida said it was UPS's problem, and I said it was Florida's. They wouldn't do anything about it until I rained down on Festool Central and they made Florida do the 'right thing'. Buying from a Festool Dealer is a crap shoot and systainers are not completely sealable.

After that I tell the Festool Dealers how they are to wrap my packages AND TAPE ALL EDGES OF THE CARD BOARD SHIPPING CONTAINER, IF THEY WON'T THEN I ORDER FROM SOMEONE ELSE ( MCFEELY'S OR BOB MARINO ARE QUALITY SHIPPERS)

My orders from Bob Marino came like they were ready to be shipped to the moon by a rocket. It took more time to open the boxes and unwrap the contents than to read the manual from cover to the Spanish/French section. And the white wrapping paper is nice to make my first sketches of a project before I make a formal drawing.
