My garage is insulated but not heated in the winter and it gets down to -15deg. I also only work on the weekend and sometimes I will go a few weeks without needing a drill.

My box store tools batts do not fare well when

Store them in the refrigerator with a partial charge.

Sooo... Leave them outside? lol

Are the festool chargers smart like the Milwaukee Lion chargers where once charged the base turns off and you can leave them on the charger for weeks without them self draining and recharging 1% at a time? This is one of the main reasons my work got all Milwaukee tools as we have charger stations in a job box and some batteries sit on their chargers for weeks.

Most lithium batteries store best when put away at about 70% of a full charge.

Festool should chime in here to give an official recommendation and instructions.

The biggest storage problem with lithium batteries is that if they loose too much charge, they cannot be recharged again.

It would be nice to get a official word.

With the chargers that turn off when done at work there is never a battery taken off the charger that has less than 3/4 charge but they are not "float charged" to death either.

I picked up a TXS yesterday and my local dealer does not stock spare batteries for any Festool tools so I would like to make sure these ones last at least 5 years.
