Beginner questions before getting OF1400

You can put it into the LR 32 plate when you want to use it with a rail, then it'll be supported.

Hi there

One other idea for supporting the router particularly on a narrow edge is to buy a second fence for the OF1400 and put it on the fence rails from the opposite side. You can then bring the fences in on both sides and support the router on the workpiece.

As mentioned above the rail guides make a good outrigger support for edge routing.

I would also consider sourcing some longer 8mm diameter rods so you have more flexibility.

The easiest method is to use the guide rods attached to the router with the rail guide extended to the side as the stabilizer.  I've been routing since the 70s on all kinds materials.  I've built extended bases from acrylic for my routers but the rail guide attached to the router with the rods is the easiest and the one I use unless I'm making 30+ multiples in which case i will make a new base.
