I have finished installing my Quad Hinge. Instead of reading the directions I watched Peter Mallard's 10 min workshop on how to install it - Big mistake (My apologies to Peter). Peter's MFT is shop made and does not have the aluminum tracks like the Festool MFT has which I failed to note the rail/track differences. I bought the Quad Hinge AND Template and set the dogs on the Template to 32mm. After boring the 4 holes into my MFT, I attempted to install the Hinge system. To my utter disbelief, the hinge would not fit into my newly bored holes because the Festool Aluminum rail/track system prevented the hinge from inserting into the holes.
So I sat down and read the instructions and sure enough, I should have installed the dogs in the 48mm position instead of the 32mm position on the Template.
I am admitting my failure, in public, so other FOGers who may be in the process of pulling the lever on the Benchdog system or are preparing to install the system., Won't make the same mistake I made. Not to worry, I installed the system on the other end of my MFT. BTW. the Quad Hinge Rocks
