Finished these benches up for a friend a few weeks ago.  Made from white oak and made using plans from the wood whisperer.  Used my domino XL for its first project.  The benches went in the locker rooms at my friends gym, so they needed to be water proof best they could.  Used sipo tenons, except for the dominos for the legs and aprons i made my own from white oak.  There wasn't enough space for 2 8mm tenons and going larger would have been too thick for the 1/3rd rule, so made my own.  Finished it with a marine varnish.

Nice work.  Why wouldn't a single tenon have worked between the aprons and legs?
Probably would have worked, but being my first project using my domino and making a bench I wasn't sure how strong they were, so just wanted to play it safe.  Probably over did it, but rather have that way than the other way around.

Nice work and I agree that the larger tenon on the leg joints was a good idea.  I might have cut the tenons on the apron and rails instead of using a slip joint otherwise I would have built it the same way you did.
