Can someone please let me know the advantages of buying the cs 50 as a set for £1950 compared to the basic saw for £1150 is there a good saving by buying it in a set I’m not so flush atm so am I going to save money buying the set

That money buys you a basic TKS 80?  Which has some huge benefits. IMO.

Now the CS is a pull saw. So they don’t
compare fully, but the safety of the TKS  makes it a big difference.

Set prices are usefully a bit more economical, not sure if thats the case for the CS/TKS.

The set version comes with extension tables so you can cut larger pieces. That's the advantage you get.

But if you're not so flush right now, buying a set version over the basic is not going to help you. In fact, buying Festool is certainly a lot more expensive option than buying an equivalent of for instance a brand like Metabo.

I got the CS 50 set version. Owning a good Bosch before, I knew what I wanted on my next purchase, I therefore ended up with the set. Although I was nearly buying the basic version with sliding table, extension table and fence as accessories. I realised that this made the outfeed table “free of charge on set version and bought the set obviously. I’m very pleased with the kit. And the possibility to use the saw without the extra tables makes it very portable. Both the sliding table and the pull saw feature makes it a lot safer and easier to use with small pieces.
I don’t think I’ll ever part with it, unless there is a better successor coming.
