Made this for my daughter.

Also made a couple of mesquite slab shelves.

Thanks to Tommy Mulaney for his slab advice and

Allan Kensley for his help using the 700 connectors.

That's very nice, clean and crisp. What is the base wood? Finish? Is that some kind of dye?
 
Beautiful work, Ron! Wow. I have never had a chance to work with Mesquite before and have always wanted too. Challenging wood from what I have heard. Did you design the plans yourself?

I just winged it. I knew I wanted to use mesquite as a head board that was it.
Just dumb luck I guess

It is heavy and hard about 2” thick. I trimmed it using my TS55 ,
Lots of sanding
