I just completed my first real furniture project.  I have never owned a router, circular saw, jig saw, etc.  You get the idea.  I decided to try my hand at woodworking and made some major purchases to get started. In this project I used the TS 75 for jointing the boards and cutting the lumber to size.  I also used it for the miter cuts for the trim.  I used the 1400 router for the dovetails, rabbets, and dadoes.  I used the carvex for the base.  The trim was installed using dominoes.  The sanding was with Rotex 125.  I used a Leigh jig for the dovetail work.  The wood was maple that I dyed with transtint dyes-amber first, then followed with medium brown.  The final finish was 4 coats of waterlox.

Needless to say, I learned a lot on this project.  I doubt I could have done this without the festool system, the information obtained from the FOG, and all the Festool videos.  Loads of fun and looking forward to my next project.

Welcome to the FOG! And what a great first project. Who's the lucky recipient?

Welcome to the FOG!

That project will be passed on to other family members in years to come.  I can't imagine the satisfaction and pride you must feel after completing such a great project - your first project - and it wasn't for the back of a pickup or the garage.

The fact that you have had the opportunity to read and extract help from members here is WOW!  So many members / so much experience / so much willingness to help = the FOG experience.
