Boom Arm and 36 hose

Cheers for the post Tom but I'm trying to figure out the plugit side of things, I've got the hoses sorted (I think) so is there a Y piece that you can plug into the end of a plugit to turn it into a double plugit?

Really sorry for the hijack cgmojoco

Are you looking for something like one of these?

Either of these could be plugged into the end of the extension cord that comes with the Boom Arm allowing you to plug in two separate Plug-it cords -- one for each hose on a two hose setup.

y confusion on the yellow pigtails as I know this plug it is usually used on a boat to convert one 30 Amp 110 Volt outlet to two 30Amp Outlets. Basically used as splitter to facilitate the normal electrical panel on the boat and the AC outlet. These are normally a 30 Amp twist lock plug.

So my question is what did I miss in order for this to work

I might have inadvertently selected a twist type plug adapter rather than the normal straight-pin plug.  My apologies.  But, I see that Roadkill understood my meaning.

Something like this is what I should have shown:

Does the Y connect directly to a 36mm hose (might I also somehow connect a 27mm hose directly to the Y) going through the boom arm?  Or is yet another adaptor needed to connect 36mm to the Y adaptor?

I'll be throwing blastgates on my Y, will let you know how that pans out---maybe in my case, the blast gate is that adapter I'm asking about above come to think of it...

Also, got Tom's pigtail on the way, thanks Tom for providing this, it just makes sense.

You will not need any other adapter to connect a D36 and/or D27 hose to a Y adapter.  The Y adapter has two female ends which will accept the vac-end fittings of any of the Festool hoses.  The other leg of the Y adapter is a male end that will fit directly into your vac, or into the hose connector that is included with the Boom Arm.  The Boom Arm comes with a 1.5m length of D50 hose that you plug directly into your vac and also comes with a hose connector so you can connect this D50 hose to the D27 hose that came with your vac or other hose that you may purchase separately.  There is not a need to purchase a Y and add it to your system unless for some reason you desire to have two hoses connected at the same time.

To clarify the terms and how the hoses are fitted, the Festool hoses come with replaceable end fittings on either end.  The D27 and D36 hoses come with tool-end fittings on one end, called Reducing Sleeves, and vacuum-end fittings on the other end, called Rotating Connectors.  The D50 hoses come with the vacuum-end fittings on both ends.  The vacuum-end fittings (Rotating Connectors) are all male fittings that can fit into your vacuum, or into the female ends of the Y adapter, or into a hose connector.  The male end of the Y adapter will fit directly into your vacuum or will require a hose connector to fit onto an end of a D50 hose -- it will not fit onto the tool-end fitting of a D27 or D36 hose.  Hope this clarifies the Festool hoses and fittings.

Thanks Corwin!  I can now proudly report that at last, all this hose talk actually makes sense to me now.  Cool!
