I have a Domino DF 500 and I saw a Domino Tenon Set for sale on Craigslist (only $250) and the individual had only used a handful of the smallest dominos; the cutters were all included as well. It was only after I brought it home that I realized that, though the kit was complete and in a Systainer, it was not in a Systainer Sys 2 T-LOC and hence it will not mate with my other Systainers.

Did I buy a gray market item? It's in nearly perfect shape and has the item number of 493 301. It seems to be legit....

Not a T-Loc, but in a systainer, do you mean it's in an older -classic- systainer? That's perfectly normal, googling the product number confirms it comes in the older systainer.

[member=52581]MartyDavis[/member] the classic Systainer will fasten to the t loc but only when it's on the bottom of the t loc.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'm loving using my Festools, but I realize I have a lot more to learn.

Thanks again!

It is a legit kit but old- I have one just as pictured that I purchased with my DF-500 in February of 2007, and it came with an extra set of cutters.  I'm not sure when they switched this kit to T-Locs, but I think it was only a couple years afterward.

If you compare to the current kit at $316 it sounds like a pretty good deal; however, this has probably gone through many price increases through the years- my guess is the seller sold this to you for slightly less than he paid.  If you take both of these things into consideration- both of you should be happy.  I actually like the classic better- I like the ply dividers better than the plastic trays, but more of personal preference.

Regards,
Gerald
