Breadboard countertop ends

Need a little advice. I'm building an exterior sapele bar top and plan on putting breadboard ends on this 22" deep top. I was thinking of connecting the ends to the top with a spline ala Greene and Greene design.I was wondering if I couldn't use my Domino to tight fit the dominoes to the top and loose fit the breadboard ends to allow for expansion and contraction.Any and all feedback will be appreciated

Thanks that helps immensely I will be using my Domino to mimic the loose tenon process.
