Buying Domino in USA

I live in Australia and am considering buying a Domino in the USA.  Will the only modification I'll need to make  involve replacing the plug?

I don't know which type of motor the Domino uses.  Some will run just fine on 220 others will run 2x as fast and burnout quickly, and others will do a HCFIª.

We use 240 V in Oz, and I own one of those 110 -240 V converter thingys  I use with a soldering Iron I bought from the US.

Phone Festool's customer service and ask for David- he is very well versed in all matters electrical and will be able to give you some definitive answers.

You may need a step-up transformer, although frequency is not a problem.

Also the difference in net frequency (50Hz vs. 60Hz) could be an issue...

Clogger buy it from Germany or the Uk. Both use 240V/50Hz.

Frequency won't be an issue as all festools can operate at 50-60 Hz which covers both North America and Europe.

I found out a 2000 Step down transformer works fine for the Domino.
I'm looking at purchasing from USA because a Domino at todays exchange rate is about US$800'in the US  and here in Australia costs about US$1500

You realize that the difference is due to import duty and by the time you get hit with that the Domino likely will be even more expensive than if you bought in Oz. Check to see if and what the duty will be.

BTW a good dust collector like a CT is mandatory with the Domino.

Biggest question missed....

If the unholy happens and it gets a fault.. what is the cost of sending it to the USA for repair?

Festool Australia will not be stocking certain parts that are USA (market) designed.
