Sad day :'(
C15 with all accessories, hole saw, drill bits, flash light,2 brand new batteries all in a large Bosch Lboxx
Taken away out of my van
I locked the front doors and side door but left the back doors unlock because I was in and out of the house getting tools
Almost a $1000.00 gone!
So now I need to get a new drill but right now it's not a good time to spend $450 for a Festool
I still have my old c12 but the batteries are so exhausted that it doesn't cut it
So I think I'm might get something a little more affordable
I am thinking of either Bosch or Milwaukee
I like Bosch and I had some bad experiences with Milwaukee in the past but I know that now their cordless tools are different
So for those of you who work with those brands
What do you like? What don't you like?
I'll be working with a couple old drills so I need to get something soon

[crying] [mad]

There's little lower than stealing a man's livelihood ... Hope they gone and die miserably.

Sorry to hear that. I recently lost over 6000 stolen from my garage it's a horrible feeling.
I have a bunch of makita and as far as I am concerned I don't have a lot of faith in there batteries. I would go Milwaukee if I was you.

That SUCKS!  How about new batteries for the C-12 in the meantime?

Peter
Yeah I know
I thought about it but I think I rather put the money towards a new drill
If I get new batteries, with my luck ,the charger might crap on me or something goes wrong with the drill
My c12 is 10 years old with high millage

Really sorry about the drill.  I really love my Milwaukee M18 fuel drill and driver.  Haven't used the lighter M12 versions.

That really stinks.  Will insurance cover the loss?  If it will, then maybe you can get the new Festool and then be made whole once the insurance settles the claim.  Unless they won't cover since technically you left the back unlocked.

I'd still look into getting the batteries rebuilt.  Maybe the pricing isn't too bad.  If that works out you could sell off the old C12 when you get the money to upgrade to a new drill.  Another more affordable Festool option is the CXS.

That really sucks. The metabo with interchangeable chucks is a good replacement. More power than the PDC and takes centrotec bits. Priced much better too.

Get new batteries for the c12, they are not that much.

My c12 is almost 9 years old, I recently found it in the bed of my truck, must have been rained on 4 times.

That drill is the shiznit.

Yeah,

The Milwaukee tools are good, but for how long?

Nice to have a large system of tools.................that don't last?

Sorry this happened to you. I think a thief is the lowest form of sub human life

I have both the Bosch and a Milwaukee. I like my bosch set it has a little less power but overall nicer feel. There are multiple fuel drills the one I got came from the depot or lowes cant remember  but it was a slower speed than the other available models. I primarily use it for use with hole saws so didnt like this. If you feel that you are going to eventually get a new festool I recommend the makitas they are good for the money. and will last you a couple years till green is back in your budget

Have you checked the Classifieds here?  There is a like new C15 for sale.
I did
Just a bit much to spend right now
I'm working with 2 old c12
3 batteries
They are doing OK, I just keep them charge
So I m just going to work with this for a while hoping to give me some time to think about what to get

I have the Milwaukee 18V Fuel system and have used it to drill a 4.25" hole through 4" of wood without any problems and still had battery left (4AH battery).

I've used their cordless tools (drills, circular saws, saw-alls and impact) since the old 7.2V ones and have always been happy with them. Some had the trigger/speed controls burn out, but the parts were easy enough to obtain and replace. Same goes for the batteries and the outer case for the one that only lasted for one bounce after falling three stories off a deck onto concrete.

I would sponsor you with a virtually NEW battery for the old C12 as I have a 3.0 Ah one that is probably not going to be used since I have plenty of Li-Ion batteries for my C12/T12 drills.  I have used it two times as a back up battery so it would pass as "used". I keep it charged but it often gives me the evil eye for not being used - I retired my C12 Classic a few months back but kept the new battery I got for it. I would have used it - but since I scored TWO more machines at a 50% close out sale I am neck deep in new batteries!

I am not sure how to ship it to you across the atlantic (I am based in Sweden) without customs hassle. Sending it as a "gift" might help but you might be charged duty on it if declared at full value. I guess it would look suspicious with a "used battery" being sent as a "gift". I would still like to offer it to you though. :)

Any advice? Anyone from the US visiting Sweden soon that could bring it over the pond for interstate shipping?

Thirty foot drop and the case broke?  Good to know what the limits are.  I have a 18V fuel impact driver and the bigger hammer drill.  They are pretty awesome tools and the battery system is top notch.  I highly recommend them.  you can also get them pretty affordably if you shop around a bit.  The ones in the big box store carry a 5 year warranty, which is pretty good.

Yep. When it hit the ground the battery came off and landed in the grass, the tool bounced into the air and then the handle split around the trigger. Surprisingly, the battery case didn't crack.

I decided to buy 2 aftermarket batteries for my c12
And also got the Bosch 18 v compact drill
I got the batteries on Amazon for $40 each
So far so good.the drill still drives everything I put on it
The Bosch drill is also nice
Got it for  about $100
I had to replace all my drill bits/ countersink/ hole saws
The $$ amounts adds up quick!
Good thing I'm busy right now
