I've heard of people having fine results with it, you just get slightly lower suction with it being a 27mm opening. If you want what's recommended, you want a 36mm hose, which doesn't come from Festool as a sleeved package with the cord. However, the new braided hoses come in both sizes. Alternatively, you can get something like Techflex to wrap whatever hose and cord you want to essentially make your own.
