Canadian Festool Dealer(s)

I hope this is in the right forum, if not please feel free to move it.

I keep hearing that Festool will be available through dealers other than Haefele here in Canada. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

I hope you're right.  Someone (not sure who) thought that Lee Valley Tools might be carrying Festool soon.  This would be great if it were true.

Cannuk, that would be better than great. That's the kind of company Festool needs promoting their tools in Canada. This is the first I've heard that LV might be involved.

I've been hearing strong rumours about dealers other than Hafele for over 6 months.  But nothing has happened.  My guess is that it will happen but that it won't happen until the Autumn.

It would be so perfect if Lee Valley were to sell Festool that it probably won't happen.

I have to agree with you. Festool appears to be anal about maintaining control, setting profit margins, and generally keeping their dealers on a very short leash.

Mr. Lee does not seem to be a person that would allow Festool to interference in his business to that extend.

Personally, I don't care one way or the other. In the last few months Festool has managed burn through all the goodwill that I had for their products. I am looking forward to the Ottawa Wood Show, and trying the Makita.

I've received an email from Shane Holland affirming that there will be an expansion of the dealer network in Canada, but no time frame has been decided yet. He mentioned in the email that if anyone had any potential dealers in mind they should forward contact info to him at Fesrtool,  sho@festoolusa.com .

I hope this happens soon. Just trying to get sandpaper refills out of Hafele has put me off buying from them again.

Anything that makes it easier to get Festool products here will be welcome.  Sure could mess up my budget tho'
