I hadn't changed out the bag on my CT-22 lately and really hadn't thought about since it always develops great suction.  Until yesterday.  I wondered why it wasn't picking up the dust as usual and then it dawned on me to check the bag.  It was like a brick!  This DC is amazing.  It didn't even whimper until it was so full I had a hard time getting it out of the machine.  I'll be sure to check it more often.  I'm a little disappointed with the amount of dust from my TS75 that gets thrown out of the front.    I don't have the splinterguard on at the moment as it broke and I haven't replaced it yet.  Could that be the problem?

Howard, at the end of the cut there is no material to contain the dust so it escapes out of the front of the saw.

Hey Howard, I've also made bricks with my CT22.  But, shouldn't your thread be titled something like, "My TS75 is throwing dust"?  So, is this rogue dust showing up ahead of the saw and on the top of the material you're cutting, or is it piling up in front of your material after traveling up the kerf cut into your MFT?  If it is the former, you may be correct in suspecting the splinter guard.  And the larger D36 hose couldn't hurt.  But if it is the latter, you can use a trick I picked up here a couple years ago and tape over the kerf in your MFT (or sacrificial base) that is exposed beyond the end of your material.  Hope this helps.

Sometimes after sanding, when I have turned the CT's suction down, I forget to turn it back up.  At a later date I may find the DC lacking on another tool and realize my mistake -- don't get old.

It's definitely being thrown forward.  Not in the kerf.  I'm using the 36mm hose too.  Not a big deal in itself, it could be a lot worse.  I'm actually spoiled by the minimal amount of clean up I have to do after a several hour stint in the garage.

I have had two blow outs with the last two bags I have used.

One bag got a hole in the back.

One bag seperated from the plstic tube that is on it.

What a mess.  At least it did not catch fire.

I just went to check my CT22 bag and noticed the same thing, a hole in the back of the bag??  A complete mess.  The question is with the HEPA Filters... at what point should they be replaced once completely packed with sawdust?  I cleaned them out as best as I could be tapping them, using a shop vac and light compressed air.  But still pretty dirty.  Anybody have any suggestions?

Don't use water to clean them. That will ruin the HEPA filters. Use air from both sides of the filters.
