Hi all,

I'm trying to decide what to do here. Do I stick with my PS400 body grip jigsaw or upgrade to the 420 model? was working with it today (PSB400) to do a trim on rough sawn timber using the adaptor plate and rail when a few sparks came from the blade guides.

I'd appreciate any feedback from users who've either used both the 400 and 420 series  or use the 420 series and their observations. I've tested a 420 on demo and liked it as much as my 400 but other than fine blade guide setting, couldn't exactly figure out all the hype lol.

cheers and much appreciated.

I have no problem with my 400, but I did buy a cordless 420 as well.

If you can cash your 400 and you want a 420 - go for it!

If you're happy with the cut quality of your PS400 I wouldn't upgrade, but if like mine your 400 can't cut straight or the blade goes wondering out of the blade holder entirely I'd eBay it and get either the 420 or a Mafell P1cc.

I got a PS420 since I had both the assessory kit and the CMS insert for it, but you might not have those hindrances to limit your options.
