you making chairs to go with that table top [tongue] [tongue] [tongue] [tongue]

lol I thought the same thing its for when his family decides to eat on the floor!   Well the other option he wanted was diminishing octagons so like the frame then a smaller one and a smaller one and so on  but I didn't like that idea.

We are making seating area and a table for him also just this  one is for the floor  [tongue]

If it does not look good or he does not like it ill keep it and make some legs for it and keep it for my self lol!

I just gave it a quick sand before I go out shopping and when I come back ill finish it off!  I just gotta leave the strap on for the glue to go off any way!

Well I can add the Rotex 150 to the list of festools used now and as I just gave it a quick blast with the Rotex to clean it up

Really coming together nicely.  I hope that roof is well tied down as if it was up here the wind would have that thing off to Norway  ;)  You probably don't get near the amount of wind down there that we do though.

Properly not dude BUT it is very very very windy still there!  he's surround by fields so no cover so alot of wind comes across his land..

Damn right, no trusses on my jobs unless they are traditional trusses

its only an extention roof. Lofted with 4 velux' and stupid steel ridge.

Hello!

Well last week I fitted the ''table top'' and did some of the decking! Welll........ The client loves it!  [big grin]

Any way I did some research on the internet a while ago to find a good method of fixing decking boards down with out showing any fixing!

Well I decided on Tiger Claws!  Seen as our boards had no grooves or anything on them it seemed quickest and easiest way to go!
http://www.deckbrokers.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=42&product_id=62

Well.........  ummm I dont really rate them that much!  Okay they hold the deck down solid and yes they do the job BUT they are not as easy and fast to use as you think!

Two major problems with them!  1. They dont seem to tap in as easy as the videos show on youtube!

2. When you drive the screw in it pulls the spikes down which is a massive flaw! As the next board you drive onto the spikes rides up im talking about 1mm worst cases 2mm but that is not acceptable!  So me and my mate have to go back and using our hammer claw pend every one up slightly so its level or if anything stick upwards so it pulls the board down.   This is time consuming!

Sooo verdict I need to find an alternative for my next decking job!  But for this job they will do as once you have sorted out the problem they do the job keeping the deckboard down.

Here you go wood Guy!  When we have finished the job the entire decking floor will need sanding and cleaning up so looks a little messy at the moment!

I have decided ill be doing all the sanding now as I have seen the painters and clients handy work at sanding and its really bad! They are actually destroying all the hard work we have put into the job! by sanding to much in places taking corners of sanding grooves in the the wood lists goes on!!  [sad] [sad] [mad] [mad]

As you can see I still aint stuck the middle round piece in being fitting the handrails and rest of the decking ill do da when we have finished all the rest of the stuff we need to do.
