I've had a cedar fence installed, and I need to protect it now. A good UV blocker and sealer, and preferably some scratch protection would be a good idea. Any suggestions for what to use?
I have "One Time" stain on all my cedar (shake) and poplar (board/batten) siding. It's held up amazingly well in VA sun for several years now...
It's a UV cured resin system that really protects the wood well physically and (with darker tint) UV-wise too. It costs more than other stains but with a re-application schedule of 5-7 years and no stripping it pays for itself.
