Anyone tried a Bora Centipede saw horse to hold foam board and use it as a quick setup tracksaw cutting station? Results comments ?

I have not used the centipede with a foam board, but had used it with just a scrap plywood board on top (and a TS75) as a tracksaw cutting station. No better solution for a quick and space-saving approach. For regular jobs, I use the Krevno-style sawhorses.

That combination works okay.

The limitations are that the Centipede requires a flat surface. A few legs standing on high spots will make it wobbly.

The Centipede/foam panel combination is light. It will slide around when you bump into it.

The Centipede is not very tall.

As a cutting station it works better with a thick panel on two of a sheet or two of plywood etc.

The Centipede will work on a surface that is not completely flat which is the case for my shop. The legs are "hinged", making the work support flexible enough to work on slightly uneven surface.

I use it in my garage.  I use 2" foam on top and it works pretty well, but if you want to cut your foam into thirds for storage you're going to have problems getting things lined up well enough to provide adequate support.  I'll often have several sheets on top; but separate the top one I'm cutting with a 1/2" piece of foam, to avoid lifting things on and off it.  This way I can just make a stack straight from my truck and slip the 1/2" foam under the next sheet to cut as needed.

Never used the centipede but I often use a couple of sawhorses with two lengths of 2x2 between them.
You can put a foam board over that which works out about the same as the centipede but if you want you can also stand on the sawhorses if you want.
I reckon I'd get more use out of the sawhorses than the centipede but I would say that cos thats what I already have.

I have not done this, even though I own two of the Centipede thingies. My feeling is that you'll still want some 2x pieces to stiffen things up in addition to the sacrificial foam board. Otherwise, the setup should work for you. I do think you'll want two units if you plan on starting with nominal 4x8 sheet stock, however.

With foamboard?  Not yet, no.  I was too cheap to spend $20 on a sheet of rigid foam.  I bought an 8-foot and a 16-foot LSL 2x4.  Cut the 8 footer in half, the 16 footer into 2x 6's and a 4 footer.  Set those up on my Centipede stand to hold the plywood, so only 1 foot was unsupported at each end, but the full width was supported.  This let me both rip and crosscut without the plywood sagging, depending whether the shorter or the longer 2x4s were on top.

Since then I did buy a piece of foamboard, cut down to 2x4 pieces to use with the two 6' 2x4s on my centipede, or on their own.

Yes, I use 2 inch EPS on the centipede regularly.  It’s great as a quick and dirty cutting solution.  I’ve even done a few glue ups with parallel clamps, some quick and dirty edge banding, etc.
