Just got my Quad drill and a socket adapter.  Excellent idea, but my adapter had a small problem, and I was wondering if any one else has experienced this.  In the part of the adapter that goes into the 3/8" hole in a socket, there are two ball bearings that can be retracted when you pull back the collar to release the socket.  When mine arrived, there were two ball bearings rolling around the container. Put them back in, but the fall out  Seems that a manufacturing step was left out that causes the ball bearings to be retained in the tool.

This seems to me to be a defective item. I would call Festool to get it sorted out.

I see that you have been a member for quite a while but since this is your first post ....... Welcome!  [smile]

Most certainly a dud, mine is perfect - nothing like that!

Thanks for the welcome Seth.  Festool is taking care of it; I was just wondering if it was a class problem.

Yes, long time member, big supporter of Festool.  I was lucky enough to win the first Domino way back when they first raffled off 10 to introduce to the US. I think I've 'sold' 6 since to others.

Now waiting for the new low profile sanders they showed at Las Vegas.
