Well today I used my centrotec screwdriver bits in my CXS from atlas machinery for the first time.  Went over to work on my mother in laws house. She was very impressed with the systainers and how my bits were in one and my drill in the other.  [blink]

I have read that these bit are better that a standard bit but never really believed it. I guess I am wrong again [mad] There is a difference and very smooth operation for putting screws in. Atlas has done a nice job on their bits as well.

So now that I am converted  [big grin] I started looking at the sets but find that most are sold out or discontinued. I have the zobo bits so could buy a set with or without them included.  Is there a new release coming up?  Also does not look like many for sale in the classifieds.

Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated  [thanks]

Did you get 500875? Got mine yesterday. I would liked the drill bits with countersink all in one, do they do this? More time using brad point then countersink. Whilst I only got the set yesterday (haven't used it yet) I'll need to get used to the centrotec system, running with T18 & CSX for drilling and screwing. Used this combo hanging oak doors Thursday/Friday and loved it. Using self centering pilot bit from trend snappy. Had a look on eBay for the same in Festool... £25 for one bit! I'll stick to snappy for now in the Jacobs chuck.

That set looks awesome but believe it is not in available in the U.S. Or Canada ?

Anyone know how to get one here?

I bought a bucket load of 2mm (I think) extra long HSS bits from eBay for the Trend pilot bit that self centres. Was about £2.80 for 10 of them, vs about £7 for one of the branded Trend ones. One wobble and it's a gonner, but a brilliant tool.

I just bought a couple of the trend self centre drills. I had some years ago then bought the cheap copies from screwfix that were rubbish.

Trend ones 100% better than SF ones. SF are disposable after one hinge haha. Terrible. May try the ones from Axminster Fischer set that work with centrotec system.

Which set did you order from Atlas? Or did these ship with your CXS?

The last three Centrotec Installer's Kits (2011,2014 and 2015) have been Limited Edition sets.  I would expect, based on successful sales, that Festool will continue to release Limited Edition sets in the coming years. You'll just have to wait. (The 2015 set was NOT released in North America. The last set sold in the USA was the 2014 set.)

Enjoy your CXS!  It's one of my favorite tools!

Cheers,

Frank

I picked up some of the Robertson bits in various sizes and lengths. Good quality bits. Love the CXS. Read it was good but reviews don't begin to describe how good it is to work with.

Thanks, I'll look at the bits from Atlas. I ordered one of the kits with my CXS, but the bits are expensive. The CXS is an awesome little drill, I built a few kitchens with this tool. I ordered my drill kit from Lee Valley, I guess they are out of stock. I see that Dan at Ultimate Tools has put together a nice assortment of bits also.
