Cheap, imitation, MFT knockoff

Honestly, I have not used it that much yet but with the legs being canted out at an angle, it does make it pretty stable for what it is. You are not going to be able to hand plane big boards on it without it moving around. It is not a 300 pound workshop table. I got the clamp set, the tail vise assembly, the jigsaw holder and the shelf thing for mine and so far so good but I have only had it for a short time.

What are the heights of the top when in workbench mode and in scaffold mode, if different?  Are the legs adjustable in length or do they simply fold for transport and storage?

On the Vika table -

Here are the specs

Workbench Mode
Height: 31.8in (80.5cm)
Width: 47.6in (121cm)
Depth: 18.7in (47.5cm)

Scaffold Mode
Height: 21.7in (55cm)
Width: 47.6in (121cm)
Depth: 18.7in (47.5cm)

The legs rotate around to table and extend to select the mode.  There are only two positions for the leg length.  There is a brace for each corner that look flimsy, but do a surprisingly good job.

Does anyone know if Costco Canada carries them too?

There is a retailer in Canada, Kent Building Supplies, that carries them so I would say chances should be good that Costco Canada would carry them too.  I'm sure you could call one and find out.

I, or shall I say, JR, discovered another use for this table.

While picking up a last minute gift at Costco the other night, I bought one of these things for myself.  While I will not have a chance to use it for MY purposes until at least the weekend, JR discovered that it makes a perfect gift wrapping platform.  8)  She really likes the three-strip power cord setup because she was able to take one of those springclamp gooseneck lights and attach it to the side of the platform to provide additional light while she wraps gifts.

Happy Holidays to All...!  :)

;D My wife said the same thing, "this is the perfect giftwrap table"  I have a feeling this will be used as a craft table way more than I use it as the workbench/scaffold I was planning on.

The kids also like it, because in the lowest leg setting, it makes a perfect lego building table with kid sized furniture.

Best C bill I've spent in a long time.

Interesting that the workbench mode height is about the same as the MFT/Kapex, 31.8" vs. 31 1/8".  Just enough to be different when used with the MFT but with a comfortable working height.

Saw one myself and almost bought it. Perhaps instead of thinking of this as cheap, maybe something closer to the truth is that the Festool MFT/3 is over priced? I know this doesn't have extrusions or a fence and a strict comparison is not valid, but it does have a lot of features and the price seems right on. By contrast the MFT price shocks a lot of people as, I think, it should. Don't get me wrong, I love my MFT/3, but I am convinced Festool makes a killing off of a me and lured me in with innovative design. In effect, I paid for more than a table and Festool knows it.
