I have a CMS and have recently bought a 420 EBQ CARVEX JIGSAW.

I have noticed that there seem to be two Jigsaw inserts around for the CMS.  There is the Festool 561262 CMS-PS 200/PS 300 Jigsaw CMS Support Module coming in at around £150 and the CMS-MOD-PS 300 EQ-PLUS at around £450.

Now I also understand that the former requires the ADT-PS 400 adapter, but aside from that are there any reasons to pay the extra £300 for the newer model?

Seems like a pretty steep price for a relatively simple insert. Are you sure on that info?

The old insert is compatible with the EBQ Carvex 400 and 420 with the use of the ADT-PS 400 base.

As far as I understand it there is only one version of the jigsaw insert.

My supplier is Tooltime in Germany. price for base 162 € price for adaptor 15€

Your 2nd link shows the bare CMS jigsaw insert. ADT-PS 400 base is something you also need if you want to use the guide rail or the circle cutter with the Jigsaw.

If I remember correctly, I went through this several years ago:

The 561263 {CMS-MOD-PS 300 EQ-Plus} is for use with the PS 300 only.

The 561262 {CMS-PS} is for use with the PS 200/PS 300 and with the addition of adapter 497303 {ADT-PS 400} will permit the use of the PS 400/PS 420.

I own a jig saw Module for the CMS. Its for a old style jigsaw (trition).  I like it. I use it. Its great for template making  etc.

For 450 quid ya can prolly buy a used PS 200 and the module save a few quid. I only paid $250 for the PS 200. That way you can just keep it mounted in the module.

I use mine more in the module then I do free hand.

I thought I'd answer the OP's original question. The "CMS-MOD-PS 300 EQ-PLUS" consists of the module/insert (there's only one version btw) and a Festool TRION PS 300 EQ-Plus jigsaw (IOW, as shown in the associated product image(s), the jigsaw displayed hanging upside down in the module is included). As for the "Festool 561262 CMS-PS 200/PS 300 Jigsaw CMS Support Module", it's just the module sans jigsaw, hence the wide price differential.
