CMS-VL Rolling Stand

Knocked this one out Saturday afternoon, nothing fancy, just 2x4s four squared and pocket screw joinery.
The CMS-VL is meant to be hooked up to the MFT/3, but I wanted to use it as a freestanding unit. It also has a larger table size than the CMS-GE.
I took careful measurements since the height and width is different from the front end to the back of the CMS-VL.
I used four hex head bolts and tee-nuts to level the unit to my tablesaw.
I wanted to be able to wheel the unit if I needed, and also some storage for the fence and other accessories.
Now I can also share my tablesaw outfeed/custom MFT as an outfeed.
Eventually I will get an MFT/3 rail, so that I can hook up the unit directly to the outfeed cabinet.
It's quite sturdy, although the dual locking casters I got from Amazon have some play when I push the entire assembly intently... not too happy about the casters but once it is locked down it will be stable.

If I need to take it with me or use with the MFT, I can detach it fairly quickly.

There are a couple of questions:
- Is there sufficient rigidity sliding table?
- Are really flat fence?
- How quickly did you adjust the plane of the coincidence of the left and right of the fence with these little plastic screws?

That is a nice combined central work set up you have.

I am concerned the CMS could move during use, or if bumped.
Over all, you have a great setup there, but nothing to restrict movement of the CMS in any direction.
If it does move an inch or so, the movement will be sorted out downward.

Hi Tinker,
The stand has dual locking casters that restrict motion, so it is fairly stable, no tipping or rocking... as much as if it were attached to the MFT. I anticipate that once I have it locked down to the outfeed, it will be rock solid.

Thats a pretty slick set up dood  I like the way you made those levelers.

Now we need more videos with you using the CMS

I like the whole setup. Did you have to do anything to the table saw to make it level with the CMS/MFT? They look like they are all level with each other at least in the pictures. Great job!

My concern is not at the caster level.  I am concerned about the apparent lack of security of the CMS to the top of the frame.

It looks to me like there is a T Nut into the lumber and a bolt into the CMS extrusion, Don't think it can fall off there--??

1) The sliding table is very rigid, it can easily handle the weight of most cabinet or furniture pieces that you would need it for. I can put significant downward pressure on it without it deflecting.
2) Yes, out of the box
3) Didn't have to, since it was perfect initially.

Nope, I leveled the router table to the saw with the hex bolts and nuts that you see in the pics.

1) it's interesting. The one instance that stands in our local store, very soft, perhaps it is poorly configured?

2) hard to believe, I've seen three of the table in the three stores, and in all the fence was concave. exact - were themselves concave half of the fence - as the bottom of the boat

However, it was a few years ago may have since then things have changed for the better. I'll try to check.

In any case, I'm glad you are all right!
