Collet and bit stuck in my OF 1400

I just finished using my OF 1400 and now the bit is stuck in the collet. Any suggestions on how to remove it?

Ouch.  Are those plier marks on the bit?  Have you tried some heavy duty lubricant yet, like PB Blaster?

This isn't the first time this has happened. this is for a 1010 but a stuck bit is a stuck bit

I realize I had pushed the bit all the way to the bottom of the collet as the cause.  I used a piece of wood and hit it gently with a hammer ( found this on Internet ). The bit came right out. Chalk that up to being a novice.

The fact that you were able to show the stuck bit without the collet nut suggests that you did not have the collet nut fitted correctly.

With the collet out of the router and no bit in it push the collet (hard) into the nut until you hear a click and the nut is captive on the collet.

The nut will now pull the bit out of the collet as you unscrew it past the first locking position.
